When labor-only makes sense
If you booked a rental truck yourself, or you are using a moving container that gets picked up separately, you still need people to carry the furniture and load it correctly. That is where we come in, without the truck and driving portion of a full move.
It also works well for a move where a family member is driving the truck long-distance but cannot manage the loading and unloading alone. We handle both ends, or just the end you need.
How the crew loads someone else's truck
We treat a rental truck the same way we treat our own, checking the layout before we start and loading heaviest items first, low and centered, so the weight sits correctly for the drive. We bring our own dollies, straps, and blankets even when the truck itself is yours.
On the unload side, we work off whatever order the boxes and furniture were loaded in, and we ask which rooms things belong in as we go rather than guessing and moving things twice.
Container and pod loading
Moving containers get loaded a little differently than a truck, since the box sits still on the ground rather than backing up to a door. We plan the load from back to front so the container stays balanced when it is picked up and driven.
This is common for longer moves where a customer wants to pack over a few days before the container is collected, rather than loading everything in one long push.
What to have ready before the crew arrives
For a labor-only job, having the truck parked and ready, with a clear path from the door, saves real time once the crew arrives. We do not charge by a fixed job rate, so time spent waiting on access is time that could go toward loading instead.
If you have already grouped items by room or by what goes on first, tell the crew lead when they arrive so the load plan matches your priorities rather than a generic default order.
